About Amy

Located in Zionsville, Indiana, I completed training as a Spiritual Director through Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction. Over the last thirty years I have been shaped by my roles as wife, mom, elementary teacher, educational consultant, small group leader/trainer, church planter, missionary, caregiver, homeschool teacher, and dyslexia tutor. The work of Spiritual Director is a role that is powerfully shaping my heart.

I discovered spiritual direction accidentally, when my counselor said, “You don’t need counseling anymore, you need spiritual direction.” I had worked through layers of childhood trauma, more recent family trauma and my own chronic illness with an excellent Christian counselor. But I couldn’t figure out where God was amidst the heartache. I longed for a bigger view of God and for deeper trust and intimacy with Jesus. Experiencing the closeness of Jesus with a trusted companion has meant the world to me.

Recently, my last little birdie has graduated from high school and it’s a joy for my husband and I to watch our four children find their paths. I’m sure our two goldens and a barn full of cats will keep us amused as we begin to learn the art of empty nesting.
